Unsquare Dance

Motif is 7/8 time, executed briskly enough that the feel can also be that of 3/4 with each measure sounding hitched or hung up temporarily on an extra-large or extra-heavy last beat. Starts with sparse percussion and finger-snapping alone, and explores the 7/8 idea (and the melodic ideas Brubeck superimposes) without going so in-depth that the listener starts to forget what the original simple idea was.
