Lalena is the only cover song on the third studio album of Deep Durple, also reffered as Deep Purple III. The song was originally written and performed by Danovan in October 1968. The song is one of the calmest, most low-paced songs in Deep Purple's catalogue. It was never played live after 1969, yet it was played at a BBC session, which was recorded and included on the remastered and expanded edition of Deep Purple.
Lyrics:
[Intro] [Verse 1] When the sun goes to bed That's the time you raise your head That's your lot in life, Lalena Can't blame ya Lalena [Verse 2] Arty-tart, la-de-da Can your heart get much sadder?
