"Paint the Town Red" is a song by Doja Cat. The song was released on August 4, 2023, via Kemosabe Records and RCA as the lead-single from Doja's upcoming 4th studio album. The song samples Dionne Warwick's "Walk On By" and is a departure from the Pop/Rap sound of Doja's previous projects; “Hot Pink” (2019) & “Planet Her” (2021). It was released after Doja's controversy with her fans and tabloids, and addresses some comments about her personality, career and choices as an artist and person, using her alter-ego “Scarlet” to do it.
