“Next To Me” is Dan Reynold’s romantic anthem to his wife, Aja Volkman. The song describes Reynold’s “frailties” and problems/fears with commitment. He confesses he has never truly written a “love song,” especially one so pensive, due to his harsh histories with love in the past. Dan explains, “it sounds like a cliché, but love conquers all.” The single’s sonicality and musicality is mirrored through a waltz timing which climaxes during the drop in the Bridge, furthering the passionate lyrics. Alongside its debut, Imagine Dragons unveiled their Evolve World Tour and “new things to come” on their Instagram. The tour is planned to be accompanied by AGT winner, Grace VanderWaal.
