"What Do You Mean?" is a song by Canadian singer Justin Bieber and the lead single for his fourth album Purpose (2015). It is Bieber's first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100. It makes him the youngest male to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning him a Guinness Record. It is only the 23rd song in the Hot 100's 57-year history to debut at No. 1. Justin Bieber co-wrote "What Do You Mean?" with Jason Boyd and Mason Levy. The song was produced by Bieber, and MdL who had previously collaborated with the singer on his single "Boyfriend" (2012).
