This song sampled Popular from Wicked Musical. Describing how this came to be, Mika said "I met Stephen Schwartz about three years ago. I sent him an email one day saying, 'I really like your song popular, and would you mind if I played with it a little bit, and flipped its meaning around to mean something else.'" The album version of the song features Priscilla Renea. Describing her involvement, Mika said "We were talking about our experiences at school, and this is really the only song [on the album] that harps to my childhood... Priscilla sounds like such a restrained bit of naughty humor, but she has a voice that sounds like a young Michael Jackson." According to Wikipedia, "For the track's single release Mika changed the arrangement and rewrote some of the lyrics to remove the expletives. He also removed Renea's vocal contribution and replaced her with American actress and performer Ariana Grande."
