The song became an instant hit while Nicki Minaj and #FreakyGirl trended for days. Announcing the release date on July 22, 2022, Minaj also announced the return of Queen Radio. Up until Queen Radio's return on August 11, Minaj encouraged fans to create alternative covers of "Super Freaky Girl". Since its release, the song has gone #1 on iTunes worldwide, debuted atop the US Billboard Hot 100, and marked the biggest debut of a solo female rap song in history.
