Wiki:

"Nearly Lost You" is a 1992 single by grunge band Screaming Trees. Perhaps their best-known song, it was a moderate success on modern rock radio, partly because of its appearance on the soundtrack to the 1992 Cameron Crowe film Singles. In addition to the soundtrack, Nearly Lost You also appeared on the band's 1992 breakthrough album Sweet Oblivion. Barrett Martin, the drummer here, also worked with Stone Temple Pilots and R.E.M. . According to the Nearly Lost You Songfacts, his latest accomplishment is to be ordained a Zen priest, as of 2000.

[Verse 1] Did you hear the distant cry? Calling me back to my sins Like the one you knew before Calling me back once again [Chorus] I nearly I nearly lost you there And it's taken us somewhere I nearly lost you there Let's try to sleep now [Verse 2] Drag me far enough to know I'm blind every mile that you burn There's a rider that's fallen and It's clear there's no time to return [Chorus] I nearly I nearly lost you there And it's taken us somewhere I nearly lost you there Well, let's try to sleep now [Verse 3] Did you hear the distant lie? Calling me back to my sin Like the ones you knew before Calling me back once again [Chorus] I nearly I nearly lost you there And it's taken us somewhere I nearly lost you there Well, let's try to sleep now [Outro/Chorus] I nearly lost you there, I nearly lost you I nearly lost you there, I nearly lost you there I nearly lost you there Oh yeah, I oh, I nearly lost you there
