"Shake It Off" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift for her fifth studio album 1989, marking a rapid departure from her signature country pop musical style in favor of a more "radio-friendly" format. The song was released as the lead single from the album on August 18, 2014, by Big Machine Records. An accompanying music video directed by Mark Romanek was released on the same day as the song's release.
