Wiki:

The song is the title track on the album. The album is the last with Jim Morrison, who died three months after its release. Jim Morrison recorded his vocal part for this song in the bathroom of the studio to achieve the natural reverberation. The words "Mr Mojo Risin'" in the lyrics are an anagram of "Jim Morrison". The expression "City of Night" was borrowed from John Rechy's book of the same name issued in 1963. eyboardist Ray Manzarek explained this song's meaning to Uncut magazine in September 2011, "A song about driving madly down the LA freeway... You're a beatnik on the road, like Kerouac and Neal Cassady, barreling down the freeway as fast as you can go." The music video for this song was directed by Ray Manzarek and produced by Rick Schmidlin in 1985, 14 years after Jim Morrison's death. A sheet of paper with this song's lyrics written by Jim Morrison was sold at an auction in UK for £13'000 on the 4th of August 2009.

The Doors Lyrics "L.A. Woman" Well, I just got into town about an hour ago Took a look around, see which way the wind blow Where the little girls in their Hollywood bungalows Are you a lucky little lady in the City of Light? Or just another lost angel? City of Night, City of Night City of Night, City of Night L.A. woman, L.A. woman L.A. woman, Sunday afternoon L.A. woman, Sunday afternoon L.A. woman, Sunday afternoon Drive through your suburbs Into your blues, into your blues, yeah Into your blues, into your blues! I see your hair is burning Hills are filled with fire If they say I never loved you You know they are a liar Driving down your freeways Midnight alleys roam Cops in cars, the topless bars Never saw a woman so alone So alone, so alone, so alone Motel money murder-madness Let's change the mood from glad to sadness Mr. Mojo Risin', Mr. Mojo Risin' Mr. Mojo Risin', Mr. Mojo Risin' Got to keep on risin' Mr. Mojo Risin', Mr. Mojo Risin' Mojo Risin', gotta Mojo Risin' Mr. Mojo Risin', gotta keep on risin' Risin', risin' Gone risin', risin' I'm gone risin', risin' I gotta risin', risin' Well, risin', risin' I gotta, wooo, yeah, risin' Whoa, oh yeah Well, I just got into town about an hour ago Took a look around, see which way the wind blow Where the little girls in their Hollywood bungalows Are you a lucky little lady in The City of Lights?
